Pragati Aroma is a fragrance house dedicated to developing exceptional fragrance oils for brands across the world. We combine technical expertise, contemporary formulation practices and a deep understanding of olfactive composition.

A brief can arrive as a mood board, a competitor’s bottle, or a single sentence. We take it from that first olfactive direction through to a refined, cost-targeted formulation ready for production, and we stay on it through every revision until the brand signs it off.
Perfumes, eau de parfums and extraits developed at our Mumbai creative centre.
Sandalwood, nagarmotha, rose, jasmine, agarwood and kewra, distilled at our own units.
Formulation, bottling and packaging run to one specification, under one point of contact.

The business began with a single copper still in Kannauj, the town that has been distilling attars for four centuries. The work was seasonal and slow: wait for the flowers, run the still, sell the oil.
Over the decades that one unit became seven, each placed where its raw material actually grows; jasmine in Tamil Nadu, rose in Uttar Pradesh, agarwood in Assam. Owning the distillation meant owning the quality.
The creative centre in Mumbai came later, and with it the shift from selling oils to formulating finished fragrances for brands. Today both halves of the business feed each other.
Fine fragrance, composed in India, for the world.
India has long been trusted for what it grows and distils. We want it trusted for what it composes. Our work is the full arc of fine fragrance: a brief received, a formula written, a compound built and validated in the base it will live in; done here, by perfumers here, to the standard any house anywhere is held to.
We are not asking brands to come to us because we are close to the raw material. We are asking them to come to us because the fragrance is right.
Pragati Aroma is founded.
The first distillation unit opens in Kannauj.
The second generation joins. Capacity expands across raw material processing.
A commercial base opens in Mumbai.
The Mumbai creative centre opens, bringing formulation in-house.
Expansion into the Middle East.
The third generation joins, carrying the same practice forward.
A network of facilities supplying brands across continents.
We are a family house, and we work the way families do, on the long view. Trust here is not a promise we make to clients; it is an obligation that runs in every direction: to the brands we formulate for, to the growers who supply us, and to the people who work alongside us.
Every brief is answered with an original formula. Our perfumers compose rather than adapt, and a composition takes the time it takes.
We distil what we compose. The naturals in our formulas come from stills we operate, in the regions where the material grows.
A formula is only worth what it is worth the second time. Every compound is held against a retained standard, so the batch approved is the batch delivered; at any scale, in any year.

The house is built. Our facilities, our creative centre, our laboratories and our compliance systems already do what a fine fragrance house is expected to do. What comes next is not consolidation but it is reach and speed.
Reach means new markets. We have grown up serving the Middle East and India, and the practice we have built there travels. The next chapters are being written in the markets we have not yet served.
Speed means technology. Perfumery has always been slow by nature, and some of that slowness is essential for example maceration cannot be hurried, and neither can a perfumer’s judgement. But much of it is not. We are investing in predictive tools for stability and performance, and digital systems that shorten the distance between a brief and a sample.
